Girls& Video Games?

When I was in 6th grade I watched my older brother and dad play videogames all the time. One day, my brother was in the middle of a game, Halo, online with my cousin and he had to go to the bathroom and randomly told me to play for him. I had no idea how to even control this robotic lookin' thing around and I didn't know what any of the buttons did. So I winged it until he came back..I didn't do so well but there was something about playing it that made me want to just get better at it.

After I got the hang of it, my dad and I started playing together for a more bonding experience and would stay up for hours yelling at the tv screen for how stupid my death was. I loved those times that I had with my brother and my dad and nobody could have stopped us. We stopped playing in 2009, I believe, because paying for the membership was on the bottom of our priority list.

Since I met my boyfriend, I started to spend less and less time with my dad and I knew it was something I had to fix. When I got a job I was able to pay for my own membership again and my dad and boyfriend went under my guest name. I made my gammertag when I was 11 and never changed it 7 years later, so I still get people laughing at it every time (iTz mEe AMBURRR). And yes I have gotten weird messages from guys just because they see it's a girl playing. It's even more embarrassing when my boyfriend and dad are playing and they see all these random messages and friend request from people we're about to play with. I also got a voice message from a married father of 2 kids saying I am a fat cunt that has no life for playing videogames. Naturally I made fun of how immature he was.. and 90% of the time I have to block communications because boys don't know how to grow the fuck up. (Stop messaging me rude shit and get on with your life please& thank you)

Playing my videogames has brought my dad and my boyfriend closer and my dad and I closer as well. So all around it's a fun time(: I'm not a phsyco when it comes to playing xbox (the only console I own), I'm a girl so I might yell when something is complete bullshit, as does everyone else, but I'm not this chick. My boyfriend would dump me immediately if I was like this ....



I enjoy playing games with my boys, but I'm open to play with anybody that just plays to have fun. Girls shouldn't be made fun of or have rude remarks made to them just because they like to do what guys like to do. I play for quality time, not to prove I'm a girl that's going to dominate something a guy usually does. GIRLS PLEASE DO NOT BE AFRAID TO PLAY ANY TYPE OF VIDEOGAME AND DON'T LET STUPID BOYS NEGLIGENCE BRING YOU DOWN ;)
