First Impression: "Oh man, I really have to wait till my skin gets oily in the summer to use this?" When I first started to use this foundation, I thought it was really drying and clinged to my dry skin a lot on my face. I got it because I have oily skin in the spring/climate and the finish in this product seemed to have a matte finish on first application. I really enjoyed the coverage of this foundation for my skin at the time, but just had to put off wearing it in the colder seasons. I did the whole skin tone match thing at Sephora and asked if they had my shade in this foundation because I heard good things about it and it matches perfectly. (My shade is light beige-light skin with pink undertones, although I believe my skin does have a mix of pink and yellow undertones. My skins weird don't judge).
Wearing in Spring time: So now that it's more of a warmer climate and it gets humid, I've been able to put this foundation to the test. I've realized that it does okay with keeping my face matte, after a while of it being on it does get slightly oily nothing crazy though. I feel like the claim of being 12-hour wear is pretty decent, because it does last a long time..but by the end of that time period your makeup is on its last leg, so it doesn't look as perfect as when you first applied it. Also, with my skin being all crazy as it is right now, I feel like it isn't entirely full coverage for me because I have more acne scars to cover so I feel like I have to continue to build and build to get full coverage. The positive thing about that though is that it still looks like skin and doesn't feel heavy on the skin. The only thing I must warn everyone about is that I've noticed yesterday (4/21/15) is that it really started to melt off and look kind of gross and patchy around my nose and mouth and the weather wasn't even that warm, so I'm not sure what it could be, could be my primer, could be the weather, or just that this isn't the best foundation to wear in the warmer climates. BTW! I don't really set my powder now that I think of it, I use a translucent powder to set my concealer and sometimes my face, but sometimes it doesn't always work.
Do I believe the claims?: I honestly do believe the claims. I know I said right now where my skin is it doesn't feel like full coverage immediately, but it is build-able. Long wearing? Yup, I like wearing it during days I'm at school from 8am-5pm and then hanging out with my boyfriend/going to work afterwards. The gist of it is, I can easily depend on this and only this to last the whole day. My skin is very acne-prone so finding a high end makeup product that is oil-free is kind of a struggle because most brands are too expensive. So having this be one of the cheapest full coverage foundations that is oil-free really made me happy. And my skin is happy too, because that means it can breathe and won't break out. Now the waterproof claim I haven't really tried out, so I can't honestly review that aspect.
Would I recommend?: I would recommend this to someone that wanted a high end full coverage product because the claims are pretty reliable and the result is flawless looking. The thing that I just figured out upon looking at the packaging is that is does contain vitamin E, which if you're like me and have acne scarring, then you might know that vitamin E oil is essential for lightening up those dark spots. And I always wondered why my skin looked healthier and brighter when wiping off my makeup. That's a good feeling to know that a product is moisturizing your skin and aiding it to look healthier even after you wipe it off. BTW, I also wanted to mention that I've had this foundation for a couple months now and looking at the tube in light, I've literally used none of this product. Like yeah..it's still full. I only use it every Tuesday to last the whole day at school and whenever I know I'm going to out for multiple hours on end. Just be warned that it might sweat off a little in the warmer climates, other than that you're solid ;)
*Disclaimer: It also doesn't claim on the packaging to have a matte finish. When I said that in the first paragraph, I meant that it felt matte to me on initial application for normal to slightly dry skin.*
