Let's talk about nail color and trends for this spring 2014. This time I am going to be talking about nail polish colors from Essie and today is an ode to the color PURPLE! I haven't always been fond of painting my nails, but when I do I like to go all out and vibrant. And I can tell that this spring/ summer is going to be full of bright colors to make you go blind.
Since the Color of the Year is: Radiant Orchid I thought it was only appropriate to incorporate it in this post. I have grown to absolutely love this color in nail polish and in clothing. It's the perfect soft, yet powerful color. This here is "Lace is On" and "Splash of Grenadine" that are both pictured here. I think the colors compliment each other fabulously and you can either combine them in a manicure or wear them separately.
This next shade is more on the purple-y side and like a very vibrant pale purple..if that makes any sense. It was voted the "Most Shared" on Twitter nail polish color and I have to agree that it is my fave as well. It's called "Play Date" and I highly recommend any purple lover to give this color a go!
<-More on the dark pale, pastel side is "Neo Whimsical" (it won't let me tag the color names anymore sorry). But it's a rose-plum color as they described and I think it's perfect light purple shade if the dark colors intimidate you.
On this side we have "Under Where?" and as much as I love the name, I love the color. It's the vibrant option of the one across from it and in Essie's description they say "flirtatious orchid" so it fits with our theme.->
<-"Its Genius" is such an appropriate name because it honestly is GENIUS! It's a sparkling violet and it is breathtaking. It has a metallic sheen to it and I can guarantee not a lot of girls will be wearing this color on their nails. Although the darkness makes it seem like more of an Autumn color, you can still rock this in the summer so don't worry.
"Damsel In a Dress" is like the color across from it when it comes to that iridescent touch, but this is a much deeper purple. ->
AMBER'S FAVE PURPLE POLISH IS: "DJ Play That Song" it's a vibrant neon plum which will look perfect on just about every skin tone. It's such a fun color that'll brighten up any mood and guaranteed to make you stand out.
