Welcome back to my blog cuties! Today's post I want to share with everyone how absolutely impossible it is so please everyone. And how you should never seek for approval from anyone... doesn't matter if they are your parents, bosses, professors or anyone of a higher power.
This past Sunday, I noticed this younger alter-server at Church. Not being a creep I swear..but I've been watching him for the past couple of Sundays and every time he has to ring the bell in front of the crowd, he always looks up at his dad. As to see if he did a good job by just ringing a bell. And every time he looks up, his dad never looks at him..
Let me tell you how wrong everyone is in this situation. First of all you should never be looking at anyone else to see if you're doing good enough. Do what you love or know how to do from the very beginning. If they don't think you did good enough, screw them. You tried your hardest and that's honestly all that matters. Secondly, his dad was wrong for making that kid so nervous all the time that he couldn't even believe in his own confidence. And if that kid did get a little nervous, maybe it was his first time, then his dad should have been looking at him and reassuring him that he was doing a good job. However, I knew that it wasn't his first time. So there is definitely some lacking of self esteem for the kid and not enough support from his father. *Disclaimer* I don't know them personally so I can't really go full blast on them. It's just from what I have observed myself..because I used to do the same thing..
I used to do that with my own father when I played soccer. Every time I lost the ball or I let a girl get past me I'd look at him for advice for emergency help. He'd yell at me and just wanted me to play like I knew how to play the game. That all changed when I got older and didn't take one glance over at my father. I had fun with it and no mistakes mattered anymore. I didn't care if I get "yelled" at after the game by him of how I should have played better because I was in it for the experience and the fun memories that came with it.
My advice to you is just do you and do that to the absolute best of your ability. You will never please everyone on this planet so don't try to. No one is ever satisfied, they always want to change one thing. But if you take matters into your own hands and control your own happiness then noting else will matter. Don't look for approval from anyone, be happy with giving your all. If that's not enough, then ignore those people. They obviously don't care of how to keep you happy.
Goodluck& Be Yourself.
