AcneFree Advanced Cleansing Brush

AcneFree Advanced Cleansing Brush
  • $18.99  at Target

Initial Thoughts: I received this brush as Christmas gift from my aunt so I was really excited to try it out. However, I initially was pretty skeptical about using this brush because I heard it can irritate acne more. I thought it'd be too harsh for my skin and actually cause more harm than good...

Claims:
•Deep cleans skin
•Removes dirt, oil and makeup trapped in pores
•Helps skin absorb treatments
•Reduces oily areas
•Gently exfoliates

->There are 2 settings and I believe I mostly used the slower setting, but when there were big bad bumps that were whiteheads...I kinda sandpapered them down with the higher setting haha.

1st Use: I actually really liked using this brush because it did an amazing job of removing leftover makeup that my makeup removing wipes missed. I felt like it does such an effective job at getting deep down into your pores and actually flattening your blemishes. Also, I believe this helped my skins texture with my acne scarring, by buffing out the "potholes" and polishing my skin for a beautiful youthful feeling. The bristles in the brush are pretty stiff so it can be intimidating, but it works so well and doesn't feel like it's irritating my skin at all.

After Multiple Uses: I really wish I had before and after pictures of my skin to show that I'm not bs-ing you guys because I really do feel like it made a difference. My skin feels and looks cleaner than it ever has before. It definitely smoothed out my skins texture and lightened up my scarring spots in the process. It gets all the makeup perfectly out of my pores and makes my skin feel really clean. I use it when my skins oily or dry just depends on the product I use with it. I generally use it at night, but sometimes I'll use it in the morning if I notice my pores are really big or my skins too oily. My Epiduo didn't seem to be working at first, but I feel like after getting deep down into my pores, it allowed my medications to be more effective.

Final verdict: I really enjoyed this brush, however it only lasted 2 months, but it probably was my fault entirely. I misread the label on the box that said you cannot use it in the shower...and that's pretty much how I've been using it this whole time haha (whoops). I'm kind of mad I broke it already because I actually really liked it! I would definitely repurchase this in the future!

Would I recommend?:
I actually have recommended it to my older cousin. We go back and forth with each other trying new products for our acne scarring and blemishes and whatnot and I think my opinion really encouraged her to go for it.  Like I mentioned, I would definitely repurchase this brush in the future!
