Ever since my sophomore year of high school I have been color/cutting my hair. Why? Because fresh starts and new beginnings are always needed to make someone feel good about themselves. My hair has always been my identity. I am proud to show it off and do crazy new things to it & I hope I can inspire anyone to not be afraid to express who they truly are. BTW ..I don't remember exact time frames, so I'll just put in chronological order from when I posted selfies on Instagram!

Starting from my sophomore year. Here is my bright red hair. Before I colored it red, I actually had it cut to match Lindy (Bubzbeauty) old hairstyle called "an asian mullet" where there are short layers on top and thinned out longer layers on bottom. I was actually the first one in my high school to start the whole "red hair trend" that happened. Many people think I got my inspiration from Ariana Grande's hair because that's around the time the show called "Victorious" came out, but really I got my inspiration from Jillian Rose Reed from my favorite TV show "Awkward." (as pictured on the bottom left). I loved my red hair, especially when it was bright in the sunlight. It made me feel different and unique. However the upkeep on red hair is quite the hassle. I called my hairdresser to come over maybe once every two weeks just to touch up my hair because it went orange pretty quickly. After making towels pink and having my hair bleed in the pool on vacation, I kind of got tired of it. Sooo I dyed it to this...

I then had my friend dye it black and underneath, turquoise blue for me. I absolutely loved this hair transformation. Still with the same haircut, just different colors. It was so fun to do different hairstyles and curling it to make the 2 colors swirl together. I also kept it around long for my friends senior prom when I was a junior (pictured on the right).

After my blue faded to green and I realized how unhealthy my hair was, I went for just 1 solid color. This color is jet black mixed with some blue hues. I have to say this is one of my favorite colors that I did. My eyebrows are naturally black, as odd as this may sound, I prefer to have my eyebrows match my hair color. Not 3 shades darker or 3 shades lighter like everyone says to do.

Then when the jet black faded, I went for a more dark purple color. This is among my top favorite hair colors of mine. I felt like the color was vibrant yet subtle enough for everyday school and work. Plus, I felt like this color matched my skin tone the best! I used this color during spring and summer time..as funny as that sounds since it's so dark, but I absolutely loved when how vibrant it was when the sun hit it.

When I was tired of coloring my hair, I decided to lay low for a bit and give some of my natural hair a go. So here is my hair where my haircut is grown out a bit more, but still full and voluminous. After dying my hair so many times, this was my favorite stage of my hair for a long time.

This is still with my natural hair color, but I took pictures at the time to show everyone how the red hair color from so many years ago actually stained my hair. So whenever I take flash photography the red shows up and very vibrantly, I must add haha. The second picture shows how long my hair actually grew as well. My bangs would usually be above my eyebrows coming down at an angle of course, but in that picture, you can tell just how much my bangs grew.

Straying away from coloring my hair started to really bore me. I like having something to look forward to and trying new things so this was a pretty fun one for me. I did an ombre hair color cascading from brunette to blonde. Everyone loved this hairstyle during my senior year of high school as well, so there's another trend I started under my belt (not to brag or anything lol). I got a lot of compliments and girls I didn't usually talked to wanted to know how I got my hair colored like that. BTW I got some girls commenting on these pictures on Facebook asking if I'm wearing extensions. NO I have not ever worn extensions in my life. It's simply the way my hairdresser cut my hair. Anyway, I wore this to vacation and when I got home I was pretty over it. So I went to get the blonde cut off after wearing it for a few months.

After a couple of months my hair went to one color and grew to one length (left).

On the right, is my hair fully grown out. Legit no layers and still one color. Depending on the lighting, peaks of the red always pop through so that's what you're seeing in this picture.

This picture is my all-time favorite picture. My hair was curled to perfection, eyeliner on point and it was my last day of Accutane. So my complexion was fully clear. Anywayyy, my hair is pretty much fully grown out here and quite healthy.

After having enough of being BORING, yet again, I went bold with my hair cut. Not so much the color, just the cut. (The filter of the picture made my hair look more purple in the top left picture). My hair was taking a beating from straightening it daily, so I cut it to like my collar bone, but left my bangs to grow out. I didn't know how I felt about it at first because as you might be able to tell, this is the shortest my hair has ever been. After getting used to it and realizing how much more manageable it was, I loved it. It sucked to style it in different ways, but you find tips and tricks anywhere.

Annddd thus bringing us to where I currently am in my hair stages. All one length, all one color... well sort of. You can still see hints of blonde, purple and red in my hair, so it's pretty funny to see my hair in the shining light. If you can tell, my hair hasn't really grown much since I cut it short and it usually grows pretty fast (even when coloring it and it's almost been a year). I'm very bored with how my hair color is right now, so I'm hoping to change it up for my 20th birthday! I will do a separate post on my new hairstyle when the time comes, because this one is seeming realllyy long.
