Perfect Picnic

Since Monday, I had it all planned out. I have actually been thinking about surprising him with this for quite a while now. I asked him when he was off of work and immediately after he said he was off Wednesday I knew my plan would work out as planned.

Yesterday, we both had a lot to do in soo little time. I got out of class at 12:20pm so he came to pick me up. From there, we had to go get my blood work done and then he'd drop me off at my house so he can go work on his car for an hour or so until he had to go mow lawns with his cousin. Well, once I got to the doctors office my mother failed to tell me that I needed to bring my prescription with me. So we took a 10 minute drive back to my house to get the silly little paper, to drive 10 minutes back to get the blood work done. After that, we were very behind on our plans and tempers were rising. It was a quiet ride back home to drop me off home and I felt like not even mentioning the surprise to him because I knew how busy he was and I didn't want to be selfish and tell him not to go do what he wants to do.

My plan was while he went to go work on his car he'd get sandwiches for us and we hangout like we do almost everyday. But it got screwed up when he didn't tell me he was mowing lawns afterwards, which meant it would normally take about 2-3 hours depending on how many lawns they had to do. But I knew that it'd be too late to have the picnic after all was done.

About 2 minutes away from my house, I decided to tell him my surprise. Upon telling him, he slowed down the car just looking at me. I told him it was okay for him to just go, still driving, he said, "Amb look at me." I couldn't help but feel upset because I did have this all planned out in my head and I really wanted it to work out since it was a beautiful warm October evening. I didn't have much to say to him so again he said, "Amb...don't be upset, now I want to go with you." My heart felt lighter, but I still felt selfish. I know how much he has a passion for cars and I wanted him to just be happy. We got out of the car and walked to my front door. He told me to stop and look at him and said, "I really want to go with you now, I don't care about the car, you had this all planned out let's go right now I can work on it another day. You're more important to me." He kissed me on the forehead and that's when I knew everything was okay between us. Although feeling somewhat guilty, I was happy that he said that and was now excited to go with me.

So we ran to the local deli got sandwiches, drinks and chips and took off to the park to set up our date. Once we got there, we laid the blanket down and had our little picnic basket with our goodies and had a great time. We talked then laughed and smiled a lot. I jumped on top of him and laid on his chest and talked some more and I just admired him and us in this very moment. I couldn't ask for anything better than that day. I love my boyfriend so much and the fact that he was willing to drop everything for me made me love him even more.
