My New Car!
I finally got my new car last week and it's my pride and joy. Everyone, it's my pleasure to introduce you to my baby Daisy <3 She's cute and tiny and perfect for me. Now I know what you're thinking.."Amber that cars not 'new'?!" Yes I am aware, but she's new to me lol. I don't like newer cars as odd as it may sound, I love the character of old cars and how extremely unique they are. Especially my baby.. you don't see much of these cars in this small town in Jersey.
It's funny how things work out actually. It was on a Sunday and my family and I were at church. Before mass begins we say a little prayer. I asked that God please help me cross off one of these stresses from my "stress list" and that was getting a car. After mass was over and I checked my phone, my boyfriend had texted me saying he found a car for me and that we were going to go look at it later that day. The best part was that it was the one I wanted. Since we couldn't find this VW anywhere we were going to give up and just settle. I'm so beyond happy my prayers came true and I encourage everyone in how strong the power of prayer is.
I originally had $850 in my savings and my mom was going to give me an extra hundred to help me out. Since my job is absolutely shit and I literally haven't worked in 3 weeks I could really use the extra help. After my boyfriend found this car, we realized that I would need a lot more help since this was the car of my dreams (for a first car). My mom jumped right in and my boyfriend right along. Together they both paid for the second half of the cost. Yes so that means my car was around 1600. I never would have payed this much for a first car but this car is absolutely perfect for me so we had to get it.
Everyone thinks Daisy is so cool since she's a convertible and absolutely adorable since she's pretty tiny. YES SHE IS STICK SHIFT! I decided that I wanted to get her stick shift because I have been going through several years of self-doubt and I want to prove to myself that if I try hard enough I can achieve it and be good at it. As long as I practice, me and Daisy will be the cutest chicks at the car meets that my boyfriend drags me along to.
Anyway, I wanted to say thank you to my boyfriend and mom for being so generous and caring and to my God for answering my prayers and helping me out when I need it most. Now I can go to work and school without having to constantly ask people for rides. I am partially free haha seeing still how I have to insure her to start practicing. I'm so excited to start driving her and learning new things! Cheers to trying new things this summer!
What will you do differently to make this summer one to remember?
