Maybelline Dream Bouncy Blush

I went to Wal-Mart the other day with my boyfriend to get some snacks to watch a movie at home together and along that way of course I had to stop by the makeup aisles and I ran into something that I've always wanted to try out. My boyfriend is so sweet and got me the Maybelline Dream Bouncy Blush so I thought I might as well give it a nice little review (I know it's pretty old news, but maybe this will help someone scared of wearing blushes, like I am). I got all of this information below off of Maybelline.com

#30 Candy Coral
  • Revolutionary gel formula provides a new bouncy texture.
  • Lightweight like a powder, yet melts seamlessly into skin like a cream
  • Natural sheer wash of color that is buildable for greater color intensity
  • Dermatologist tested, Allergy tested
  • Non comedogenic
For Best Results:
With your fingertips, blend a small amount of blush onto the apples of your cheeks, applying from your cheekbones to your temples. To build color intensity, apply more blush.

Initial Thoughts:

Well as many of you could've guessed from the introduction that I have always been infatuated with this blush just because of the creamy bouncy texture. I don't usually wear blush because my face has somewhat of a red sheen to it because of all my acne scarring and I feel like blush kind of emphasizes it..in a bad way though. But I always wanted to just have this blush just in case my face cleared up. So I said what the heck and got it, and man do I love it. I told my boyfriend to feel the texture of it and he thought it was pretty cool haha. It doesn't really have much of a smell so that it also a plus.

Initial& After Several Uses:

So the first time using it I was so pumped and ready to finally use it! And I was so happy with the results. As the instructions claim, for best results, using your fingertips to blend it in first then maybe using a brush to spread it across your cheeks then adding just a slight bit more to the apples of your cheeks is how I use it. The color I have has a bit of a shine to it, not crazy like a highlighter though, so I knew it'd be perfect to have a 2 in 1 blush/highlighter glow to my cheeks. It gives my face such a nice healthy glow and gives color back to my skin, but since the color I have is more coral-y, it doesn't look like something is wrong with my cheeks. Just looks really prettyyyy!

Would I Recommend:

I would definetly recommend this product to anyone going through my situation with acne scarring or anyone that loves blushes. It feels so lightweight and natural, it just gives your skin a beautiful glow, and it's subtle yet buildable color. It's a fun product because of the bouncy texture, and the cream to almost powder consistency. The colors to choose from are all very pretty and beautiful so I will be going back to get the rest of them, eventually.. in the meantime I will be enjoying my Candy Coral and all it's magical powers!
