Simple's Micellar Water

The recent trend on YouTube featured by most "Beauty Guru's" is the Micellar Water from Simple. Knowing that much of their videos were probably sponsored, I wanted to try this product out for myself to see if they were being honest. Most of this information was taken from Simple's Website.

Claims: "Our Micellar Water is a perfect blend of multi-vitamins, skin loving ingredients and gentle cleansers to cleanse the skin while removing make-up. Skin is left feeling clean & hydrated."

For Best Results: "Apply a generous amount to a cotton pad. Wipe the cotton pad all around the face, no need to rub the skin. Gently wipe around closed eyes and avoid getting into your eyes. No need to rinse after!"

What to Love About It: "Triple Purified Water: Our purest possible water to minimize potential for irritation from particles or contaminants that can irritate skin.

-Vitamin B3: Known to restore, soften and smooth skin. It's especially great for those with dry skin.
-Vitamin C: A water soluble antioxidant vitamin for skin.
-Hexylene Glycol: Helps dissolve makeup and kindly conditions the skin"

Being honest I came into this experience with really high hopes and I was super excited to try it. I didn't have like big cotton rounds or anything, just jumbo cotton balls. So I used around 3-4 of them to take off my full coverage Revlon foundation. And Oh My Lanta does it work like a dream. It takes off my mascara, eyeshadow, bronzer, foundation the whole shabang! All the while feeling very gentle on the skin.

They say you can use this product and not have to wash your face after it. I semi agree with that. I have acne-prone skin so I'm like a germaphobe when it comes to washing my face to its entirety. It leaves my skin feeling itchy and therefore I feel like I need to wash my face after. Sometimes I feel like I really don't need to though. I think it depends mostly on what type of foundation I used as well. For instance, when using a more light coverage foundation that's when I feel like I don't need to wash my face until my night routine. But for the full coverage foundation as mentioned before, it does feel necessary to wash my face.

I took along this product to a 3 day event where showers weren't exactly convenient, so I used this at night and in the morning to refresh my skin (kind of as a cleanser) and it reassured me that at least my face was clean. My skin felt totally fine btw! I don't know what happened but it was probably being away from stress and not caring about responsibilities for a while, but my skin actually cleared up during this trip hah!

BTW, I've had for I want to say 2&1/2 months now, use it close to everyday I wear makeup (6/7 days) and I'm halfway through the bottle. Keep in mind that the directions say to basically drench the cotton pad/ball...so you're using a good amount of the product every time you use it!

All in all, I do love this product. I feel like it does a pretty good job of removing makeup and leaving my skin feeling fresh and clean. I sometimes use this in conjunction with makeup removing wipes just to achieve maximum cleanliness. Then as mentioned, I'll take a shower and follow up with my new skincare routine! Unless I'm not home, I'll always wash my face with my routine no matter what. I would definitely recommend this product to people that want a good effective makeup removing product that doesn't require you to cleanse afterwards just in case you are on the go! So even though some YouTubers were sponsored to tell you their opinions, mine are real and I enjoy this product!:)
